The name pumpkin quite often can get confused between pumpkin and squash. Different countries use different names but they are both from the same species known as the cucurbitaceae. Basically a pumpkin is a type of squash. The best pumpkin to use will be the denser sweeter types with little water such as sugar pumpkin or sweet pumpkin!
