The bread is toasted in butter, filled with a mixture of sage infused cream, Parmesan and Gruyère cheese, wrapped in prosciutto ham. Prosciutto and sage are a marriage made in heaven. Serve it hot and watch that cheese ooze out.
Grate the Gruyère cheese and add it to a mixing bowl.
Add to the same bowl, grated Parmesan cheese.
Add the crème fraîche.
Chop and add the fresh sage leaves.
Add white cracked pepper and mix well.
Divide all the mixture into four and spread evenly onto the four slices of bread.
Add another slice on top (like a sandwich)
Butter both sides of each sandwich.
Place a slice of prosciutto onto the sandwich and wrap it around. Flip the bread over and repeat process so the two slices join together and wrap around the sandwich. Repeat for each one.
Place a non stick frying pan on low heat and add your bread, heat for approx 3 minutes each side or until nice and toasted.
Prepare them in advance and cook them on a tray in the oven if catering for a larger group.
