Remove all the crusts from your bread slices.
Cut them in half
Add a piece of ham making sure it leaves a margin around the edges, trim if too big.
Slice your mozzarella cheese (3 slices), slice into strips to fit on bread, also leaving margin.
Place the cheese on your ham.
Season with pepper (ham and has enough salt).
Cover with the other bread half squeezing or pinching the edges.
Add your flour to a bowl.
Add your milk to a bowl.
In a mixing bowl, beat the two eggs together until well mixed.
To a frying pan, add the garlic and oil.
Heat up your olive oil to just before smoking point.
Soak your bread in milk, drain a little and transfer to flour.
Coat in flour and dip in eggs making sure it’s fully covered.
Place in frying pan and fry approx 45 seconds.
Flip it over and repeat process, approx. 45 seconds.
Transfer to absorbent paper to drain oil.
Serve and eat immediately.
Use any type of bread.
Avoid using extra virgin oil as heating up the oil will remove the flavour, any olive oil will be fine for frying.
Keep flame on low heat once you have added the first batch.
